Omoyele Sowore, the 2023 presidential candidate for the African Action Congress (AAC), has hit back at former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso over his recent disclosure that his daughter urged him to form a political alliance with Peter Obi.
Reacting via his X handle, Sowore suggested that if Kwankwaso’s daughter has a better grasp of political strategy than her father, she should be the one vying for the presidency.
Sowore stated:“Mr. @KwankwasoRM, if your ‘daughter’ now has to tell you who to work for in 2027, then perhaps she, who obviously knows better than you, according to your own postulation, should be the one running for President. Clearly, you have become politically atrophied. Liars shall not make heaven! #AACOurParty”

The exchange follows a Monday interview on ARISE News, where Kwankwaso revealed that his daughter had pushed him to work with the Labour Party’s Peter Obi during the 2023 elections.
While discussing the shift in political consciousness among Nigeria’s youth, the former governor admitted that even within his own home, there was pressure to change strategy.
“Even in the 2023 election, in my own house, my own daughter was telling me to go and work with Peter Obi,” Kwankwaso revealed.
He argued that the younger generation is moving away from traditional voting patterns based on ethnicity or religion, focusing instead on the quality of governance.

“People are talking of religion. Some people are talking of ethnicity, but the younger people are looking for the right leadership for this country. And I think they are absolutely right,” he added.
Kwankwaso further criticized older political leaders for being out of touch with the digital-savvy youth population, stating, “You have leaders who hardly have any contact with the young men and women.”
Despite Kwankwaso’s attempt to frame the story as a sign of youth engagement, Sowore’s sharp response suggests that the former governor’s reliance on his daughter’s advice is a sign of declining political relevance.
