The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially set up its Primary Election Committees and Primary Election Appeal Committees ahead of its upcoming National Assembly nomination exercises.
The ruling party disclosed this in a statement released on Friday by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.
He explained that the specialized committees were formed to directly supervise the conduct of the primaries and efficiently manage any internal disputes or grievances resulting from the voting process.

As the intra-party elections commence, the APC national leadership explicitly challenged all its members and political stakeholders to prioritize transparency, equity, and orderliness throughout the entire process.
“The All Progressives Congress (APC) hereby announces the composition of the Primary Election Committees and Primary Election Appeal Committees for the upcoming National Assembly Primary Elections,” Morka stated in the official announcement.
The spokesperson further emphasized the party’s expectations for internal conduct, adding: “The Party urges all members and stakeholders to uphold transparency and fairness, and remain peaceful during the exercise.”
According to the official timeline released by the party, the House of Representatives primaries are holding today, Saturday, May 16, 2026, cutting across all 360 federal constituencies in the country.
Meanwhile, the APC has scheduled the senatorial primary elections across the 109 senatorial districts nationwide to take place on Monday, May 18, 2026.
