Mahmud Sadis Buba, a physically challenged dwarf aspirant vying for the Sabon Gari Federal Constituency seat under the All Progressives Congress (APC), has officially withdrawn from the race.

His sudden exit comes less than 24 hours after official screening documents leaked to the public, triggering a massive scandal over his eligibility.

While Buba strongly maintained during his APC screening appearance that he is 30 years old and the firstborn of nine siblings, the surfaced records explicitly state his birth date as August 2010.

If those documents are accurate, the politician is just 15 years old—rendering him a staggering 10 years short of the constitutional minimum age requirement of 25 to contest for a legislative seat in Nigeria.

In a formal withdrawal letter addressed to the Kaduna State Chairman of the APC, Buba explained that his decision was the result of high-level reconciliation efforts initiated by key party leaders and stakeholders following the intense public scrutiny.

He stated that after deep consultations with his family members, political associates, and party elders, he came to the conclusion that stepping aside was the best decision for the party’s internal cohesion ahead of the upcoming primary elections.

According to him, rallying behind a single consensus candidate is essential to secure victory for the APC and ensure the progress of both his constituency and Kaduna State.

Buba went on to express his gratitude to the Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, alongside the state APC leadership for giving him the platform to participate in the nomination process, describing the journey as deeply enriching.

He also thanked his loyal supporters and constituents for standing firmly behind him throughout his brief campaign.

Reaffirming his absolute loyalty to the party, the aspirant emphasized that his withdrawal should not be mistaken for a sign of weakness.

Instead, he framed it as a necessary personal sacrifice for the unity and ultimate success of the ruling party.

He pledged his full support to ensure the victory of the party’s consensus candidate and urged his followers to remain completely calm, united, and focused on backing whoever eventually emerges to fly the APC flag for the Sabon Gari constituency.
