Senator Garba Maidoki, who represents Kebbi South, has officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) just four days before the party’s scheduled senatorial primary election.
In a resignation letter dated May 14 and sent to the APC ward chairman of Rafin Zuru ward in the Zuru Local Government Area of Kebbi State, Maidoki explained that the persistent internal conflicts within the ruling party forced his exit.
“I am writing to inform you of the withdrawal of my membership from the All Progressives Congress, APC, Rafin Zuru Ward,” the letter reads.
“My decision is based on the lingering internal crises of the APC that has made my political aspirations a source of concern.”

The lawmaker expressed his gratitude to the political platform for the privilege of serving the public during his tenure.
“I thank you for the opportunity to serve under the umbrella of the party,” he said.
Maidoki currently serves as the chairman of the Senate committee on legislative compliance and holds the position of vice-chairman for the committee on information and national orientation.
The APC has scheduled its senatorial primary elections for May 18 in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
