The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released the names of 47 senatorial aspirants who failed to clear the party’s screening requirements, disqualifying them from participating in the upcoming Senate primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The list was made public on Monday through an official press statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.
“The screening exercise was conducted by the Party’s Screening Committees in accordance with established procedures and guidelines,” the statement noted.
Prominent political figures feature among those who were not cleared, notably Ben Murray-Bruce, a former senator who previously represented Bayelsa East, and Benson Agadaga, who was vying for the ticket in the same senatorial district.
The Rivers West senatorial district recorded the highest concentration of high-profile disqualifications, with four key names blacklisted: Oyukaye Flag Amachree, Tamunobaabo Wemike Danagogo, Jack-Rich Tein, and Banigo Ipalibo.
At the state level, Zamfara State saw the largest overall wave of dropped aspirants, with seven individuals failing to secure clearances across its Central, North, and West districts.
The APC leadership did not provide specific reasons for blocking the affected aspirants from the race.
