The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) has suspended all night vigils, overnight prayer sessions, and related activities across its branches throughout Nigeria as a result of the ongoing security challenges plaguing the nation.
The directive was made public through an internal memorandum dated June 5, 2026, which was authorized by Temitope Olawale, the Director of Administration at the MFM International Headquarters and Nigeria.
As outlined in the document, all categories of church programs, services, meetings, and events across all tiers of the ministry “must now end not later than 8:00pm until further notice.”

The ministry further ordered an immediate halt to all nocturnal vigils and overnight assemblies. Branches wishing to hold these prayer sessions have been instructed to modify them into evening services, which must strictly wrap up by 8:00 PM.
According to the circular, these tactical adjustments were implemented as a safety measure to navigate the country’s current security climate and protect the lives of congregants.
“These measures are purely precautionary and are intended to safeguard the lives and well-being of our members in the face of the current security situation in the country,” the memorandum clarified.
The church leadership has ordered all overseers, zonal pastors, branch heads, groups, and distinct departments to adhere strictly to this new rule.
Additionally, Mega Regional Overseers have been tasked with disseminating the directive down to every region, zone, and local branch within their jurisdiction to ensure immediate compliance.
This shift comes at a time of rising anxiety regarding insecurity across different regions of Nigeria, forcing religious bodies to proactively introduce protective policies to shield worshippers during church events.
