Inside The Secret Hideout Where Kidnappers Held Former Power Minister Adelabu’s Sister And Twin Sons [VIDEO]

The Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Abimbola Olugbenga, visited the residential hideout in Araromi Quarters, Ayegun North, Oluyole Local Government Area, on Sunday to inspect the site where the kidnappers held Busayo John-Paul—the younger sister of former Power Minister Adebayo Adelabu—and her twin sons.

The inspection took place just one day after security forces successfully rescued the three victims following their abduction on June 3, while Mrs. John-Paul was driving her children to school in Ibadan.

In a video from the scene, Commissioner Olugbenga explained that initial investigations revealed the kidnappers had used the location as a recurring base, managing to keep victims there without alerting the neighbors.

He noted that the successful rescue was the result of advanced technical surveillance and intelligence that allowed the Force Intelligence Department–Intelligence Response Team (FID-IRT) to pinpoint the building.

The Commissioner expressed frustration that the suspicious activities at the property went unreported, despite the area being occupied by neighbors.

According to Mr. Olugbenga, the rescued victims reported that they could hear sounds from the surrounding houses but remained trapped and unable to escape.

He used the occasion to urge residents across the state to be vigilant and immediately report any suspicious tenants or unusual movements to the police.

Police authorities confirmed that two suspected kidnappers were killed in a gun battle during the operation, and firearms were recovered from the scene.

While the abduction of Mrs. John-Paul and her children caused significant alarm in Oyo State—prompting Governor Seyi Makinde to publicly pledge that security agencies were working to secure their freedom—the victims have now reunited with their family.

Police confirmed that investigations remain active, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend additional members of the criminal syndicate who managed to escape during the rescue.
