Why Prices Are This High

Logistics & Operational Costs: Marketers report that the cost of moving product from depots to retail points—often involving “okada” or local transporters—is a major driver. As one retailer in Ibadan noted: “If I buy from Gasland at ₦1,700 and use an okada to transport it for ₦600, how much do you want me to sell it for?”

Depot Pricing: According to the Nigerian Association of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Marketers (NALPGAM), marketers are currently paying between ₦25.2 million and ₦26.2 million for a 20-metric-tonne truck of gas.
