During an appearance on Arise Television, Director emphasized that the President deserves commendation for recognizing the contributions of pro-democracy activists.

Reflecting on the history of Nigerian democracy, Director stated, “I’m happy that President Tinubu, being a pro-democracy activist, knew he had to correct these anomalies because in 1999, it was the pro-democracy activists who ensured Obasanjo didn’t die in jail.”

Addressing the decision to accept the recognition despite his position in an opposition party, he noted, “But when he became president, he didn’t appreciate the activists and the media. So, if President Tinubu decides to right that wrong, he should be commended. I’m not one who plays politics of vindictiveness. I’m not going to deny my social relationship with people because I’m in the opposition party.”
