The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Rabiu Shuaibu, as the winner of the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency bye-election in Kano State.
The Returning Officer, Professor Umar Sani, officially announced Shuaibu as the victor of the poll held on Saturday. Shuaibu secured 35,356 votes, significantly defeating Lawal Garba-Haruna of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), who scored 268 votes, and Abubakar Yahaya-Muhammad of the Labour Party (LP), who garnered 98 votes.
In his official declaration, Professor Sani stated, “The election was contested. That Rabiu Shuaibu of APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected.”
This bye-election was organized to fill the legislative vacancy caused by the death of the former representative, Muhammad Danjuma-Hassan of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
