Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Benjamin Hundeyin, the former Force Public Relations Officer, has officially assumed his new role as the Commander of Police Mobile Force (PMF) Squadron 31, based in Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State.
His new position follows a recent police leadership reshuffle initiated after the appointment of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu.
Hundeyin made his first major public appearance in this capacity earlier this month during a strategic courtesy visit to the Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Area, Jude Chukwunwike.
The visit, which was highlighted by the Delta Governor’s media aide, Fetuga Robert-Anyawu, focused on strengthening the partnership between the PMF Squadron 31 and local government authorities to bolster security in the region.
The meeting was attended by key council officials, including Vice Chairman Patricia Ekwutozam Adolue, Council Secretary Prince Tony Ebube, and Supervisory Councillor for Health, Austin Unorchie.
Hundeyin’s career has been marked by significant milestones in public relations and strategic security.
Appointed Force Public Relations Officer in September 2025 by then-IGP Kayode Egbetokun, he was promoted from Chief Superintendent of Police to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police during his tenure.
Before leading the Force’s communications, he served as the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command and operated from the Zone 2 Command Headquarters in Lagos.
His experience extends beyond national borders; in 2020, he served as part of the Nigerian contingent to the United Nations peacekeeping mission in Darfur, Sudan.
An academician as well as a law enforcement officer, Hundeyin holds a degree in English from Lagos State University and a master’s degree in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan.
