To register or update your voter details using the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) self-service portal, please follow the steps below.
Important Update on Registration
As of July 2026, INEC has extended the nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise. The deadline, originally set for July 10, has been moved to July 24, 2026. In Lagos State specifically, the deadline has been extended to July 26, 2026.
How to Register Online
You can start your registration or update your information through the official INEC CVR portal at https://cvr.inecnigeria.org/online.

Create an Account: Visit the portal and select “Register Online.” You will need to provide your first name, surname, mobile number, and email address to create an account.

Verify via Email: A verification link will be sent to your email address; click this link to activate your account.

Verify Your NIN: You will be required to verify your National Identification Number (NIN) to proceed.

Complete Biodata: Fill in your personal details, including your date of birth, occupation, residential address, and state/LGA of origin.

Choose Polling Unit: Select your preferred state, LGA, registration area/ward, and the specific polling unit where you wish to vote.

Biometric Capture: Depending on the current portal features, you may be prompted to use the INEC mobile application to capture your passport photograph and fingerprints.

Submit: Review all information for accuracy and submit your application.
Alternative: Pre-Registration
If you prefer not to capture your biometrics online or encounter technical difficulties, you can use the Pre-Registration method:

Complete the form online and book an appointment for biometric capture.

Print your application slip.

Visit your selected INEC registration center on the appointed date to finalize the process (fingerprint and photograph capture).

Beyond fresh registration, the portal allows you to perform the following actions:
