A trending video showing former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo running and leaping off an elevated stage at a public event has sparked widespread debate across social media platforms.

The incident occurred on Friday during a fireside chat with veteran entertainer and activist Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, in Lagos.

The gathering was organized to mark the unveiling of Charly Boy’s foundation alongside his memoir, titled 999: A Memoir in Tribute to Late Justice Chukwudifu Oputa.

In the viral footage, the elder statesman is seen taking a short run toward the edge of the stage before jumping down to the floor, even as several people on stage and below frantically stretched out their hands to offer support.
