The vice-presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, has welcomed a fresh wave of defectors from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) into the party fold in Madobi Local Government Area of Kano State.
Taking to his official X account to share the development, the former Kano State governor expressed delight over the expanding support base.
He noted that he was thrilled to receive the influx of new members from Madobi, assuring them of a fair, accommodating, and comfortable home within the NDC as the party continues to consolidate its presence free from major distractions.
Photographs from the event captured Kwankwaso—dressed in his signature white traditional attire and red-and-white Kwankwasiyya cap—addressing an energetic crowd of cheering supporters from an elevated platform alongside the party’s Kano Central senatorial candidate, Nasiru Gawuna.
The massive turnout and sea of red caps underline the NDC’s aggressive push to strengthen its grassroots political machinery in Kano State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
