2027: ADC Reveals Opposition Coalition’s Plan To Challenge Tinubu

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has outlined strategies concerning an opposition coalition aimed at defeating the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and removing President Bola Tinubu from office during the upcoming 2027 general elections.

During a discussion addressing 2027 preparations and broader national topics, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, affirmed that conversations centered on forging a comprehensive opposition alliance ahead of the presidential ballot remain active.

Abdullahi stated that the ADC maintains the firm conviction that only a formidable and cohesive opposition front possesses the necessary political strength to contest power against Tinubu and the ruling party.

Reiterating the party’s ongoing commitment to uniting diverse opposition factions and political forces, the ADC spokesperson assured that the coalition initiative has by no means been discarded.

“We still have not given up the possibility. Don’t forget that we started this coalition building. And we still believe that the window has not closed for the possibility of building a coalition ahead of 2027 because we believe that the opposition stands a better chance if we are all working together,” he noted.

The remarks from the ADC official followed the departure of prominent political figures, including presidential contender Peter Obi and vice-presidential hopeful Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, from the initial framework of the alliance.
