The standard-bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the ongoing Osun State governorship election, Bola Oyebamiji, has voiced strong optimism regarding his prospects of winning the poll.
Oyebamiji made these remarks shortly after exercising his franchise at Ward 9, Polling Unit 011, located in Ikire, under the Irewole Local Government Area of the state.
He praised the impressive voter turnout witnessed across Ikire, noting that it reflects the resilience of the electorate against any form of intimidation.
Expressing his satisfaction with the process, Oyebamiji stated: “INEC officials are here, the voters are here, security operatives are here. I want to commend the large turnout of voters in Ikire. It shows that people are not intimidated, and generally, things are going on fine across the state.”
Addressing potential security concerns within Ikire, the APC candidate called on law enforcement agencies to maintain a proactive stance in safeguarding voters and maintaining a peaceful atmosphere.
“I want to admonish the police and other security operatives to be proactive to ensure security for our people and all the voters, and I believe the election would be credible,” he remarked.
Regarding rumors surrounding the apprehension of a political figure, Oyebamiji emphasized his expectation for security personnel to discharge their responsibilities with utmost professionalism.
“I want to be sure that the police would do their job. I am confident that I’d win this election at the end of the day,” he concluded.
