The downstream petroleum sector in Nigeria continues to experience adjustments across gantry rates, depot prices, and retail pump levels following recent market shifts.
According to recent industry reports, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery recently adjusted its Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) gantry price upward by ₦20, moving it from ₦1,165 to ₦1,185 per litre.
This adjustment came in response to rising global crude oil prices, with Brent crude crossing the $93 mark.
Despite the upward adjustment at the refinery level, Dangote’s gantry price remains slightly below prevailing depot rates across major commercial hubs.
Market reviews show that Lagos private depots trade PMS between ₦1,190 and ₦1,200 per litre, while other regional depots in Warri, Port Harcourt, and Calabar reflect competitive variations due to logistics and distribution expenses.
At the retail end, major filling station operators like the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and independent marketers previously adjusted pump prices to hover around ₦1,299 per litre in Abuja and surrounding areas, following minor reductions sparked by competitive pressures earlier in the month.
Actual pump prices at individual filling stations continue to vary depending on distribution costs, transportation logistics, and specific regional operational overheads.
