The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has rolled out an innovative framework empowering applicants to upload their O’Level results remotely from their residences rather than traveling to accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers.
This updated procedure allows JAMB to authenticate academic scores directly alongside testing authorities, starting with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, Fabian Benjamin, shared the update via a media statement on Monday, noting that the measure aims to streamline procedures and minimize mistakes tied to physical data entries.
Benjamin emphasized that the board can now validate Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) outcomes straight from the issuing examination bodies.
“As a responsive organisation committed to providing efficient and accessible services, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has facilitated the verification of candidates’ O’Level results directly from the various examination bodies responsible for conducting the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination, beginning with the West African Examinations Council,” he stated.
According to JAMB, the tech-driven rollout targets persistent operational challenges linked to the former manual upload method at CBT facilities.
These challenges previously included misplaced documents, forged entries, and typographic errors made during manual subject and grade inputs.
Benjamin added that the transition helps candidates bypass unnecessary travel, grueling queues, and administrative delays during peak admission seasons.
“By using technology to reduce unnecessary visits to CBT centres, queues and manual processes, JAMB is putting candidate ease of service delivery at the centre of its operations,” he noted.
For candidates seeking to utilize the remote upload option, the official procedure requires several steps:
Navigate to the designated result verification platform, input your National Identification Number (NIN), and select “Verify NIN.”
Indicate the number of sittings and choose the applicable examining body before proceeding by clicking “Continue.”
Provide a valid email address and phone number, click “Pay Now,” and finish the transaction utilizing a debit card or online bank transfer.
Input your exam number, series, and calendar year to generate a unique Verification Code.
Text “VERIFY” followed by the generated Verification Code to shortcodes 55019 or 66019 to trigger the upload and receive a confirmation alert.
Applicants dealing with two sittings must log into their personal JAMB e-Facility portal, access the “2026 UTME O’Level Upload” option, input the Verification Code, and carefully pick between five and nine distinct subjects without duplicate entries.
Finally, select “Apply the O’Level Results” to finish the submission and obtain final validation.
JAMB confirmed its commitment to collaborating with relevant testing agencies and public institutions to continually enhance accessibility.
The board believes the alternative will heavily curb network downtime and heavy congestion typically witnessed at testing facilities during peak operational windows.
