The family of late Nollywood icon Taiwo Hassan, widely recognized as Ogogo, have refuted trending online rumors and a video alleging that his daughter, Shakirat (Kira) Taiwo, recently gave birth to a baby boy.
Through a statement shared via Instagram on Wednesday, Haleemah (Lima) Taiwo, another child of the late actor, released an official clarification.
She wrote, “DISCLAIMER. Please disregard the information currently circulating that my sister has given birth. This is not true.
“We have been receiving several calls and messages from friends and family asking about it, so we felt the need to clarify publicly.
“At a time when our family is mourning the loss of our father, we kindly ask everyone to stop spreading or sharing unverified information about our family.
“Thank you for your understanding, prayers and for our privacy at this difficult time.”
The viral posts, featuring a brief video, labeled the infant as “My Daddy’s Carbon Copy” and alleged the delivery happened shortly after Ogogo’s funeral.
Ogogo, a celebrated pillar of the Yoruba film industry, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at 66 years old following a battle with stage-four cancer.
He was laid to rest per Islamic burial traditions the next day within his native town of Ilaro, Ogun State.
