Osun Election: Tribunal Displays APC, PDP Petitions Challenging Adeleke’s Reelection

The legal battle over the August 15 governorship election in Osun State has officially kicked off as the election petition tribunal pasted copies of suits submitted by both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on its notice board.

Secretariat officials in Osogbo made the filings public on Monday morning following verification by tribunal authorities that challenges contesting Governor Ademola Adeleke’s victory had been officially lodged.

Tribunal Secretary Pefe Belemore had earlier confirmed the arrival of the documents, noting prior to formal court sessions that, “The necessary notices would be displayed on the tribunal’s notice board before noon on Monday.”

With the physical notices now visible to the public, the stage is set for the formal service of legal processes and subsequent court hearings involving all interested parties.

Court documentation shows that the opposition APC filed its action via standard registry channels under the case designation EPT/OS/GOV/01/2026 through its standard bearer, Bola Oyebamiji.

Oyebamiji named Governor Adeleke, the Accord Party, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as defendants responding to the contest over the electoral outcome.

Simultaneously, the PDP instituted its separate challenge registered as EPT/OS/GOV/02/2026, driven by Adebayo Olugbenga Adedamola against the same set of respondents.
