Prof Mgbeke Releases Audio Recording On Akpabio Allegedly Hiring Her To Target Natasha, Discussions On Okowa And Ned Nwoko [VIDEO]

The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, and the senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, are involved in a fresh political controversy following new claims by United States-based activist Sandra Duru, popularly known as Prof Mgbeke.

In a nine-minute audio recording published on social media on Friday and widely circulated on Saturday, Prof Mgbeke alleged that Akpabio personally engaged her services to launch a public campaign targeting the Kogi senator.

This new account directly contradicts Prof Mgbeke’s previous assertion, in which she had claimed that Akpoti-Uduaghan attempted to recruit her to make damaging allegations against the Senate President.

Characterizing the released audio as a preliminary preview, Prof Mgbeke indicated that further disclosures detailing her interactions with Akpabio and the ongoing feud involving Akpoti-Uduaghan would follow.

The released excerpts also feature a male voice, identified by Prof Mgbeke as Senate President Akpabio, discussing top political figures including former Delta State governor Ifeanyi Okowa and Delta North senator Ned Nwoko.

In one clip, the speaker alleged that Okowa’s defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) was prompted by concerns surrounding pending corruption cases rather than genuine political conviction.

However, the authenticity of the audio recording, the true identities of the voices, and the complete context of the private conversation could not be independently verified at the time of filing this report.

The development represents a major turn in the long-running dispute involving Prof Mgbeke, Akpabio, and Akpoti-Uduaghan. In May 2025, Prof Mgbeke had publicly claimed that Akpoti-Uduaghan offered her ₦200 million to frame Akpabio—a claim Akpoti-Uduaghan strongly denied before petitioning the Inspector-General of Police to investigate what her legal team described as a sponsored smear campaign.

Neither Senate President Godswill Akpabio nor his official media team has issued a statement verifying or denying the authenticity of the viral recording.
