Nollywood actress Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha has announced the passing of her father, Leonard Ndukaife Chukwuka.

The movie star shared the news in an emotional Instagram post on Friday, stating that her father had “gone to be with the Lord.”
Reflecting on the loss, Chukwuka noted that she lost her mother 13 years ago, expressing deep pain over now being without both parents.
“My beloved father, Leonard Ndukaife Chukwuka, has gone to be with the Lord,” she wrote.
“I lost my mother 13 years ago and now that my father is gone, the thought that I have neither parent here anymore breaks my heart in a way I cannot fully explain. So na only me bayi?”
Describing her father as “my daddy, papa’m, obara’m, my comfort,” the actress voiced gratitude for his fulfilled life and for the opportunity he had to witness his children and grandchildren grow.
“I am so thankful you lived a long life, and I am grateful to God you saw your children and grandchildren. We had hoped you would meet your great-grandchildren too, mana nya diba!” she said.
The film star also remarked on how difficult it remains to process the loss of a parent, regardless of their age.
“No matter how many years we are given with a parent, we still want one more conversation, one more embrace, one more day,” she wrote.
She added that she cherishes the memories shared with him, especially during the final chapter of his life.
According to the actress, she initially kept the news private to navigate her grief before making the public announcement.
“I have held this news close while trying to understand my own grief,” she said.
She requested prayers for herself, her siblings, and the extended Chukwuka family, promising that burial arrangements would be communicated once finalized by the family.
“Rest well, Olowo of Ikate, my father. I will always love you,” she wrote.
Chukwuka concluded the tribute with scriptural references from Proverbs 17:6 and Psalm 34:18, highlighting God’s proximity to the brokenhearted.
