African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has disclosed details of a private meeting with Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), following a thanksgiving service at the church headquarters.

Sowore stated in a Facebook post on Sunday that he attended the RCCG National Thanksgiving Service in Ebute Metta, Lagos, alongside the AAC National Chairman, Samuel Ajeigbe, following an invitation from the church.

After the service, Sowore held a private session with Pastor Adeboye, during which the cleric offered prayers and shared words of encouragement regarding his political trajectory.

“He stated that he follows my activities religiously, expressed certainty that my path is honorable, and said he is confident of my triumph,” Sowore said.

Reflecting on the visit, the human rights activist noted that this was his second private interaction with the RCCG General Overseer at the Ebute Metta headquarters.

“Thirty years later, we met again at the same place,” Sowore said, recalling their initial meeting in 1996 shortly after his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program during an anti-campus cultism campaign.

Sowore expressed gratitude to the leadership and congregation of the church for the warm reception and highlighted that his visit was not aimed at promoting a political campaign.
