The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has updated the official logo displayed for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) on its official portal, replacing the old design with the party’s certified blue-background “Two Fingers Up” logo.
The newly reflected design features a two-finger victory sign set against a blue backdrop, alongside a red “NDC” inscription, which members of the public can view directly on the INEC official political parties portal.
The update complies with a September 8, 2026 judgment delivered by Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court in Abuja, which directed the electoral commission to approve, upload, and utilize the modified logo for all future elections.
The legal dispute commenced after the NDC alleged that INEC had initially uploaded the modified logo following its adoption at the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting on March 25, 2026, but later removed it and reverted to an earlier logo used during the party’s initial registration.
Consequently, the NDC instituted legal proceedings to compel the commission to recognize and publish the updated party identity.
In her ruling, Justice Abdulmalik held that INEC’s refusal to recognize the modified design was unconstitutional, declaring that the version approved by the party’s NEC on March 25, 2026, constitutes the official logo of the NDC.
Following the portal update, the national leadership of the NDC has instructed its candidates, members, and supporters to exclusively utilize the certified “Two Fingers Up” logo on all campaign posters, banners, and promotional materials ahead of the 2027 general elections.
