A Senior Magistrate Court in Abuja has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of former Imo State Governor Senator Rochas Okorocha, former Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, Timothy Ama Chuks, and Amen Okorocha over alleged criminal conspiracy, forgery, and the tendering of false documents.

The defendants are accused of forging and submitting fake results for the All Progressives Congress senatorial primary election for Imo West, which falsely presented Senator Rochas Okorocha as the winner of the May 18 primary election.

Court documents authorized all police officers across Nigeria to seize Okorocha, Araraume, Timothy Chuks, and Amen Okorocha and produce them before Senior Magistrate Court 3 at Jiwa, Abuja.

In the bench warrant dated September 9, 2026, and issued by Ebiwari E Damini under case numbers CR/M/JW/084/2026 and CR/M/JW/085/2026 between the Inspector General of Police and the four individuals, the defendants face charges including criminal conspiracy, forgery, perjury, and uttering false documents.

Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission has petitioned the Police and the Department of State Services to investigate Okorocha for allegedly parading fake APC primary results.

The electoral umpire disowned the circulated document, stating in letters to security agencies that the authentic document submitted by the APC showed Governor Hope Uzodimma won the primaries and was duly forwarded as the candidate for the Imo West Senatorial Zone.

In a letter dated October 8, 2026, signed by Imo State Resident Electoral Commissioner Chukwuemeka C Ibeziako, INEC reported a case of a fraudulent and fictitious All Progressive Congress senatorial party primary report for Imo State dated May 18, 2026.

The commission warned that the fictitious document wrongly presented Senator Ethelbert Rochas Okorocha as the elected candidate for the party.

Enclosing both the original results declaring Uzodimma as the rightful winner and the alleged fake document, INEC urged law enforcement to investigate the forgery and neutralize spurious conduct that has a serious likelihood of causing the breakdown of law and order in Imo State.
