Detailing how the crisis began, the police statement noted, Preliminary findings indicate that the confrontation stemmed from a disagreement over the parking of a truck that had delivered goods to the company on Saturday.

The truck’s 47-year-old owner, Akinpelu Sarafa, explained that his driver resisted parking in a designated spot due to fears of damaging the vehicle’s tyres. Despite his objections, he was allegedly forced to park there, resulting in a burst tyre.

The situation quickly spiraled out of control, as the police report further outlined: The disagreement reportedly intensified when the driver requested a replacement tyre, but the company declined. In response, the driver allegedly used his truck to block the company’s entrance, triggering a physical confrontation involving the drivers, security operatives and an Indian national.

Two victims—identified as 34-year-old Ridwan Olajide and 37-year-old Taiwo Yinusa—sustained injuries and were rushed for emergency medical treatment at a hospital in Ibadan’s Academy area, where investigating officers visited to take their official statements.

The case has now been officially transferred to the Special Enquiry Bureau at Eleyele, Ibadan, for rigorous investigation to determine the exact culpability of all parties involved, with the command assuring the public that the law will be enforced impartially.
