In an advisory shared via X on Thursday, POSSAP management urged vehicle owners to initiate renewal procedures ahead of their current permits lapsing to prevent disruptions and delays during routine highway and urban traffic inspections.

To renew your permit seamlessly, follow these steps:

1. Access the Portal: Visit the official portal at https://possap.gov.ng and log into your registered user account.
2. Navigate to Renewals: Click the profile icon located at the top-right corner of the page, select Service Request, and choose Renewals to view your lapsed permits.
3. Select Permit Action: Locate the specific permit you wish to update, click on Actions, and select Renew Permit to continue.
4. Choose Verification Method: Select your preferred verification route: choose physical inspection (SIB/FIB and your state police command) or virtual verification (selecting Verify Documents Online to validate your vehicle’s VIN).
5. Generate Invoice and Pay: Click Generate Invoice & Continue to process the payment. Once payment is successful, the renewal request will undergo administrative review and approval.
