National petrol retail prices across Nigeria registered fresh downward adjustments on Monday, November 2, 2026, driven by intensified price competition among major depot operators and crude refiners, led by the Dangote Petroleum Refinery.
Wholesale ex-depot petrol prices experienced sharp reductions over the weekend across major port terminals in Lagos, Warri, Port Harcourt, and Calabar, providing immediate room for retail filling stations to lower pump prices for motorists.
The latest market intelligence reveals that Dangote Refinery’s consortium marketers lowered their gantry price to ₦1,210 per litre, prompting private depot operators to cut their rates to retain market share.
Following the wholesale market drop, retail pump prices at major filling stations across key commercial hubs have adjusted across the following price ranges as of Monday, November 2, 2026:
- Lagos State: Retail prices at major independent outlets have dropped to between ₦1,260 and ₦1,300 per litre, down from ₦1,340 per litre recorded earlier in October. NNPC retail stations continue to sell between ₦1,265 and ₦1,299 per litre.
- Port Harcourt (Rivers State): Pump prices at major depots and filling stations range between ₦1,280 and ₦1,325 per litre following a ₦56 price slash by major local suppliers.
- Warri (Delta State): Average retail prices have adjusted downwards to between ₦1,300 and ₦1,340 per litre.
- Calabar (Cross River State): Depot adjustments brought retail pump prices down to a range of ₦1,298 to ₦1,335 per litre.
- Abuja (FCT) & North-Central: Prices at retail stations hover between ₦1,299 and ₦1,350 per litre.
- Northern States (Kano, Kaduna, Maiduguri): Retail rates range from ₦1,340 to ₦1,450 per litre, reflecting internal logistics and haulage costs.
Energy analysts attribute the persistent price cuts to direct naira-denominated crude transactions and increased operational output from domestic refining capacity, which has effectively eliminated foreign exchange volatility premiums from the domestic fuel supply chain.
Industry stakeholders project that retail prices may stabilize around current levels through mid-November, provided global Brent crude benchmark rates maintain their current trading range.
