A cultural celebration in Abia State took an unexpected political turn when the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, attempted to campaign for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election.
While addressing the audience at the Item Okpi Festival in Bende Local Government Area, the lawmaker urged residents to back the administration and highlighted developmental promises.
However, his appeal was swiftly drowned out as members of the crowd loudly chanted the name of Peter Obi and refused to align with the endorsement.
Even as Kalu tried to counter the noise with party campaign songs and questioned the crowd, the viral footage quickly spread across digital platforms, sparking mixed reactions.
