Angry protesters stormed the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) office on Friday, chanting “Election must hold” as they demonstrated.
Despite heavy rainfall, the protesters set up canopies and continued singing and drumming, blocking one side of the road.

The protest followed an earlier incident where Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, stated that he visited the RSIEC premises at 1 AM on Friday to prevent the Rivers State Police Command from taking control of the area.
