The Plateau State government has declared Wednesday, October 9, a work-free day to encourage citizens to take part in the local government elections taking place on that day.
This announcement was made by the Secretary to the State Government, Samuel Jatau, in a statement issued on Monday.

Jatau stated that the purpose of the work-free day is to facilitate public servants’ travel to their local government areas and to ensure that voters have the opportunity to cast their ballots.
