Former Minister Of Sports And Youth Development, Bolaji Abdullahi Dumps PDP

Bolaji Abdullahi, the former Minister of Sports and Youth Development, has announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In his statement, Abdullahi expressed that he has not yet determined his next political step, adding that the decision will be made in due course and entrusted to God.

He explained in his resignation letter that the choice to leave the party came after a period of deep reflection and careful consideration.

“I write to formally resign my membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),” the letter reads.

Abdullahi was the PDP candidate for the Kwara Central senatorial district in the 2023 election, but he was defeated by Salihu Mustapha of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This isn’t Abdullahi’s first departure from a major political party. In 2018, he resigned as the National Publicity Secretary of the APC and joined the PDP, citing conflicts with the party’s leadership and his desire to align with his political mentor, Bukola Saraki.

Now, Abdullahi appears to be at a crossroads, carefully considering his next steps.
