Decomposing Body Of Kidnapped Anambra Lawmaker Justice Azuka Found At 2nd Niger Bridge

A joint security team has discovered the decomposing body of Hon. Justice Azuka, a member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, at the 2nd Niger Bridge. Azuka, who represented Onitsha 1 North Constituency, was kidnapped by gunmen on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, while returning home on Ugwunaobankpa Road in Inland Town, Onitsha.

Azuka, a member of the Labour Party (LP), had regained his seat after a court ruling overturned the victory of Hon. Douglas Egbuna of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who had been declared the 2023 election winner.

The abduction was swift, occurring within less than five minutes.

This incident highlights the escalating security concerns in Anambra State, especially in Onitsha, where abductions have become more frequent.
