The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has expressed condolences to Governor Dapo Abiodun and the family of Adenike Ebunoluwa Oyagbola, Nigeria’s first female cabinet minister, who passed away on Saturday at the age of 94.
The ruling party hailed Oyagbola as a pioneering figure in women’s empowerment, a distinguished educationist, and a devoted public servant who made significant contributions to Nigeria’s economic planning and development.
In a statement issued on Sunday, APC Publicity Secretary Tunde Oladunjoye highlighted that Oyagbola, who served as Minister of National Planning from 1979 to 1983, left behind a lasting legacy through her dedicated service to the nation.

“Ogun State has undoubtedly lost one of its most respected icons, a woman who served the country with great passion. Her achievements continue to inspire and serve as an example,” the statement read.
The party acknowledged her significant role in national development and praised her impactful life of service.
“We extend our condolences to Governor Abiodun, the people of Ogun State, and the Oyagbola family during this sorrowful time. We pray that God grants her soul eternal peace,” the statement concluded.
