Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has reassured his supporters that victory is inevitable, despite the political challenges the state is facing.
Fubara made this statement on Monday during the commissioning of the Government House Staff Quarters at Forces Avenue, opposite the Government House in Port Harcourt. He assured the former council chairmen present that there was no reason for them to be worried.
Opening his speech with a passage from the Bible (Philippians 3:18-19), the governor emphasized faith and resilience amidst adversity. He read:
“For many walk, of whom I have often told you, and now tell you even weeping, that they are enemies of the cross of Christ: whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.”

Governor Fubara then declared that, despite the challenges, victory is assured, stating that the struggle is not only about winning but also about standing firm for truth and fighting bravely.
He further emphasized that the era of deception in Rivers State has ended, and that the state is now focused on taking control of its future.
Fubara reaffirmed his commitment to peace and indicated that when the time comes, decisions will be made in the best interest of the state.
“I am not afraid of anything. The worst that can happen is for me to leave office,” he said, reaffirming his determination to remain true to his principles.
Addressing the youth, Fubara assured them that they would receive the guidance they need when the time is right.
In response to the Supreme Court’s ruling that invalidated the local government elections and ordered the Martin Amaewhule-led group to resume sitting, the governor said that the future holds more promise than the past.
He pledged to complete his term with honor and integrity, ensuring that his actions remain defensible.
Fubara also highlighted the importance of countering political propaganda with tangible evidence of responsible governance, pointing to the ongoing commissioning of state projects as proof of his administration’s commitment to progress.
He stated that the newly commissioned project was aimed at improving the efficiency of public servants working in government houses.
