Dr. Doyin Okupe, a renowned Nigerian physician, politician, and former presidential aide, has passed away at the age of 72.
Sources close to his family revealed that Dr. Okupe had been critically ill in the weeks before his death, with his health deteriorating significantly, causing concern among his loved ones and supporters.

Sahara Reporters confirmed that his death was due to cancer, after a prolonged battle with the illness.
In October 2023, Dr. Okupe was hospitalized for prostate cancer and was flown to Israel for treatment, but his condition did not improve as he and his family had hoped.
Dr. Okupe was first diagnosed with prostate cancer 16 years ago, and later developed sarcoma in his right shoulder.
