JAMB Announces New Commencement Date For 2025 UTME

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced a change in the start date for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), which will now commence on Thursday, April 24, 2025, instead of the previously scheduled Friday, April 25, 2025.

This change was communicated in a statement signed by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, and shared on the Board’s official X account on Saturday.

The statement explained that the adjustment was made to accommodate important commitments by JAMB and its partner organizations.

JAMB also announced that prospective candidates can now print their Notification Slips, which contain vital information such as their examination date, venue (centre), time, and other necessary instructions for a successful examination.

Candidates are advised to begin printing their Notification Slips starting Saturday, April 19, 2025 (today), to allow sufficient time for logistical arrangements to reach their assigned centres within their chosen examination towns.

To print the slip, candidates need to visit the JAMB website at www.jamb.gov.ng, click on ‘2025 UTME Slip Printing,’ enter their registration number, and then click on ‘Print Examination Slip.’

JAMB strongly advised candidates to visit their assigned examination centres one or two days before the exam date to familiarize themselves with the location, ensuring a smooth experience on the day of the examination.

The Board reiterated that no candidate would be assigned to a centre outside of their selected examination town.

The 2025 UTME will now begin on Thursday, April 24, 2025, and candidates are urged to print their slips at least a day prior to confirm their specific examination dates and locations.
