Oborevwori Absent As APC Governors Meet, Welcome New Entrants Into Party

Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori was notably absent from a meeting of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) in Abuja on Saturday night.

The meeting, intended to welcome new members to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), was not attended by Oborevwori, despite his recent move to the party.

Oborevwori, who won the 2023 governorship election under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), defected to the APC earlier in the week, citing various reasons.

He, along with his predecessor Ifeanyi Okowa, and other PDP members in Delta State, announced they were joining the APC, claiming it offered a better platform for the state.

The meeting was attended by Senator Ned Nwoko, Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo, former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege, APC scribe Felix Morka, former Delta State governorship candidate Great Ogboru, and other National Assembly members.

It was held at the Imo Governors’ Lodge in Abuja.
