What I Told Fubara When He Came With Two Governors To Meet Me – Wike

Nyesom Wike, the former Governor of Rivers State and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), revealed on Monday that suspended Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara visited him, accompanied by two governors from the All Progressives Congress (APC), as part of reconciliation efforts.

During a media briefing in Abuja, Wike, while withholding specific details of the meeting, disclosed that he told Fubara directly that he believed Fubara lacked the ability to facilitate peace.

“I told him I don’t think you really have the capacity to make this peace,” Wike stated.

He argued that Fubara’s pursuit of peace was undermined by the actions of his associates, who were publicly engaging in verbal attacks.

Wike emphasized that for genuine peace to be achieved, Fubara needed to engage with other key stakeholders, including the State Assembly, the party, and other influential figures in the state.
