Fubara, Wike, Amaewhule Make Public Appearance After Tinubu Brokered Peace [VIDEO]

Just two days after their recent peace talks at the Presidential Villa, suspended Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Minister of the FCT Nyesom Wike, and suspended Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly Martin Amaewhule made a fresh public appearance together.

The three key figures, who have been embroiled in a political crisis for nearly two years, attended a funeral service in Rumueprikom, Wike’s hometown in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.

Their joint appearance follows a peace meeting on Thursday brokered by President Bola Tinubu, which aimed to resolve the prolonged conflict between the governor and his former political allies.

The funeral was also attended by other prominent political stakeholders, including Senators Allwell Onyesoh, George Thompson Sekibo, and Olaka Nwogu; former Deputy Speaker Chibudom Nwuche; and Victor Giadom, the South-South Vice Chairman of the APC.

While no political statements were made at the event, the presence of Fubara, Wike, and Amaewhule in one place has renewed hope that the political crisis, which led to the declaration of a state of emergency three months ago, is finally nearing its end.
