Prominent PDP Chieftain, Ibrahim Ali Resigns From Party

A prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano, Alhaji Ibrahim Ali Amin, popularly known as “little” has officially resigned from the party.

His decision, conveyed in a resignation letter dated July 2, 2025, and addressed to the PDP Chairman of Tudun Wada Ward in Nassarawa Local Government, stems from what he cited as “ongoing leadership struggles and lack of internal democracy.”

Amin stated that recent developments within the party deeply concerned him, making it impossible for him to continue his affiliation with the PDP “in good conscience.”

“With due respect and humility, I wish to formally inform you of my decision to resign my membership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect.

“I have been a card-carrying and loyal member of the PDP from Tudun Wada Ward in Nassarawa Local Government. Over the years, I have contributed immensely to the growth and success of our party at various times and at different levels. However, recent developments within the PDP, both at the state and national levels, have become deeply concerning.

“The unending crisis arising from leadership tussles has seriously undermined and destroyed the internal cohesion required for the party to progress. Furthermore, the lack of respect for internal democracy and disregard for the principles upon which the party was founded have made it impossible for me to continue to associate with the PDP in good conscience.

“In view of the foregoing, I have conscientiously decided to withdraw my membership of the PDP and to join the coalition movement committed to saving our country and restoring genuine democratic values,” the letter reads.

The letter was acknowledged and signed by the ward chairman, Umar Abdullahi.
