PDP Politicians Leaving Party Carcass To Wike, Cronies – Dele Momodu Speaks On Coalition

Dele Momodu, a prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has indicated that some top members of the main opposition party are opting to leave the PDP for the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and join the newly formed opposition coalition.

Wike, despite serving as a minister in the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration, has remained a member of the PDP, which has been plagued by internal crises for several years.

When asked on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Thursday if he was also planning to leave the PDP, Momodu responded, “Without any doubt, people are leaving the carcass of PDP to Wike and his cronies, that’s all. It was a prophecy foretold.”

He then accused the APC of deploying moles into opposition parties, asserting that the ruling party aims to eliminate competition in the 2027 general elections.

“The ruling party does not want competition in 2027, so what they are doing now is to send their moles into any major formidable party,” he stated.

Despite this, the media personality expressed optimism about the coalition formed by opposition leaders to seize power from the ruling APC in 2027.

At a meeting in Abuja on Wednesday, the coalition leaders officially announced the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as their adopted platform for the upcoming election.

Momodu contended that this new coalition surpasses even the one that brought Muhammadu Buhari to power in 2015 in terms of influence.

He remarked, “I have never seen that kind of coalition, even when we were doing coalition for Buhari in 2014 and 2015, it was not this powerful and impactful.”

He added, “What I saw yesterday rekindled my hope in Nigeria that Nigerians will not sit down and allow one man to hijack the country.”

Momodu also sharply criticized the Tinubu administration, claiming it has left Nigeria in a worse state than when the Buhari administration concluded its term.

He posed a rhetorical question to the interviewer, “I know you might not be able to answer but is this the Nigeria of your dreams? Are you better today than you were two years ago? At least when Buhari left, we saw what he left no matter how bad it was, but it is much worse today.”
