The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State has dismissed recent speculations of mass defections from its ranks to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Instead, the party asserts that its members remain unflinchingly loyal and committed to reclaiming power from the All Progressives Congress (APC) at all levels.
These resolutions were reached during an expanded caucus meeting of the state chapter, held on Sunday at ASAA Pyramid Hotel, Kaduna.

Party stalwarts collectively reaffirmed their commitment to the PDP’s unity and progress ahead of crucial upcoming bye-elections in the state.
Sir Edward Percy Masha, the Kaduna State PDP Chairman, who signed the communiqué issued after the meeting, stated that the caucus resolved to distance the state chapter and its leaders from rumors suggesting plots to abandon the party.
The communiqué further indicated that party leaders expressed unconditional support for the current national PDP leadership, including the Board of Trustees and the PDP Governors’ Forum.
They lauded these bodies for their efforts to convene a national elective convention aimed at repositioning the party.

The Kaduna PDP also threw its weight behind potential alliances or strategic partnerships that the party’s emerging national leadership might explore after the proposed convention, with the goal of unseating the APC from power at both federal and state levels.
“As a party in Kaduna State, we are united, we are focused, and we have resolved to work harmoniously for the success of PDP candidates in the three constituencies where bye-elections are imminent, as well as in all future contests,” the communiqué partly read.
Party insiders present at the meeting told The Nation that discussions also focused on consolidating the PDP’s grassroots structures to counter the APC’s influence and address what they termed the ruling party’s “woeful governance failures” across Kaduna.
The expanded caucus meeting saw attendance from serving and former lawmakers, local government party chairmen, youth and women leaders, and other key stakeholders from all three senatorial zones in the state.
With state bye-elections approaching, the PDP’s latest move signals its determination to close ranks, quash internal dissent, and present a united front to reclaim political ground from the APC.
