Renowned construction magnate and philanthropist, Dr. Kehinde Alex Bankole, has formally declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Ekiti/Isin/Oke Ero/Irepodun Federal Constituency under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The declaration was made on Saturday during the monthly APC ward meeting held in Ekan, where a large turnout of constituents gathered to witness what many described as a defining moment for the constituency.
Speaking passionately at the event, Dr. Bankole, who is also the founder of KAB Constructions Ltd and Chairman of the Kehinde Alex Bankole Foundation, said his ambition is driven by a desire to bring practical solutions to the challenges facing the constituency.
Highlighting key areas of his focus, Dr. Bankole, a respected security expert, vowed to tackle the security issues affecting rural communities across the constituency.
“As someone with a background in security, I will work with relevant agencies to improve safety in our towns and villages,” he stated.
On infrastructure development, the real estate developer promised to invest in roads, water, and social amenities to improve the quality of life and stimulate economic activities.
“Our people deserve better infrastructure, and I will ensure we attract the right projects to our constituency,” he added.
Dr. Bankole also emphasized his commitment to empowerment and job creation, leveraging partnerships through his foundation to uplift youths, women, and vulnerable groups.
“We will create avenues for employment and entrepreneurship,” he said.
In the agricultural sector, the grassroots mobilizer pledged to support local farmers with training, access to markets, and agricultural inputs to boost productivity and food security.
As an education advocate, Dr. Bankole said he would sponsor legislation to promote access to quality education.
“I believe that Every Child Must Be Educated, and I will pursue this through laws and programs,” he declared.
Speaking as a traditional prince, Dr. Bankole pledged to strengthen the role of traditional rulers, promising to support bills that recognize their contributions and enhance their involvement in governance.
His declaration was met with chants of support and cheers from party members, youths, and elders present at the meeting.
