Nentawe Yilwatda Emerges New APC National Chairman

Nentawe Yilwatda, currently the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, has been elected as the new National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

His nomination and subsequent election occurred during the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.

Governor Hope Uzodimma, Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, nominated Yilwatda for the position, and his nomination was seconded by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen.

The motion was then put to a voice vote and passed by the NEC members.

Following his election, the minister was immediately sworn into office.

Yilwatda, who hails from Plateau State in the North Central Zone, was the APC’s gubernatorial candidate in the 2023 general elections.
