The Presidency has dismissed as false and implausible the claim by Ralph Nwosu, former National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), that he was offered three ministerial appointments to abandon plans for his party to align with the opposition coalition.
On Wednesday, Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, responded via his verified X handle, describing Nwosu’s allegation as a “fabrication bereft of credibility.”
Bwala stated, “From his words as reported, you know that he lied,” in reference to Nwosu’s assertion that top officials in the Tinubu administration had promised him ministerial slots to deter the ADC’s coalition efforts.

Bwala outlined three key points to rebut the claim
He emphasized that no government official, regardless of rank, has the authority to allocate ministerial positions except the President himself.
He asserted that if such an offer were genuine, it “would have come directly from Mr President.”
“If such an offer were ever made, it would have come directly from Mr President,” he said.
He questioned why Nwosu failed to identify the supposed officials who made the offer.
“The same courage he mustered to allege he was promised slots could have been used to name names and positions,” Bwala argued.
Mocking the opposition’s attempt to form a coalition, he added: “They are painfully graduating to an association of jesters, or Association of Disorganised Characters.”
