Dangote Refinery Reveals Petrol Price Amid Reports Of Price Hike

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has confirmed that the price of petrol at its facility remains ₦850 per litre, a statement that follows recent rumors of a shutdown and an increase in product prices.

In an official statement, the refinery’s management, through its Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, categorically denied the claims.

The statement reads: “The Dangote Petroleum Refinery is fully operational. There has been no shutdown, nor has there been any suspension of truck loading activities.”

The refinery clarified that it consistently supplies over 40 million litres of petrol daily, along with steady volumes of diesel.

The statement further explained that routine maintenance activities are standard and do not impact the overall fuel supply, noting: “As the world’s largest single-train petroleum refinery, the facility employs advanced predictive and preventive maintenance protocols to ensure uninterrupted operations.”

In a direct challenge to those spreading misinformation, the refinery stated: To those who believe this misinformation and anticipate a bullish market, we extend a challenge: We invite interested buyers to place immediate orders for up to 40 million litres of PMS daily and 15 million litres of AGO daily, for the next 90 days.”

The refinery urged the public to disregard unfounded rumors sponsored by “unscrupulous and unpatriotic individuals” who are seeking to undermine the country’s energy independence.
