Tinubu Appoints Abbas To Head APC Reconciliation Committee In Bauchi

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Tajudeen Abbas, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, to chair a reconciliation committee for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State.

The committee’s mandate is to resolve the internal conflicts within the state’s party chapter.

Members of the committee include Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, former Speaker of the House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara, and Abdullahi Gumel, who is Tinubu’s assistant on National Assembly matters for the Senate.

In a statement by Abbas’s media adviser, Musa Krishi, it was confirmed that the committee held its first meeting in Abuja on July 31.

During the meeting, members deliberated on the origin of the crisis, which reportedly dates back to the party’s 2015 primaries in the state, and decided to begin a fact-finding mission by meeting with relevant stakeholders.

Among those present at the meeting were former Bauchi governors Mohammed Abubakar and Isa Yuguda, as well as the Minister of Health, Ali Pate.

Abbas stated that the committee has one month to complete its assignment and present its report to the President.
