Premier League Season Kicks Off [FULL EPL FIXTURES]

The 2025/2026 Premier League season is set to begin this weekend, with a number of key talking points.

A revamped Arsenal will face an immediate test of their title credentials against a new-look Manchester United, while defending champions Liverpool will launch the season at home against Bournemouth on Friday.

The match between Arsenal and Manchester United will feature the Premier League debuts of new strikers, Benjamin Sesko for United and Viktor Gyokeres for Arsenal.

Arsenal, who have finished second for the past three seasons, spent a fee that could rise to £66 million ($89 million) on Gyokeres, a player they believe can fire them to their first title since 2004.

Meanwhile, United’s manager, Ruben Amorim, has overseen a massive overhaul of his attack, spending over £200 million on new signings, as both clubs “desperately need a fast start.”

Liverpool have “bucked the trend by outspending their rivals with a squad overhaul” fresh from winning the league, spending £260 million on new players.

The team has faced “teething problems in pre-season” and is “still reeling from the tragic death of Diogo Jota in a car accident.”

However, manager Arne Slot remains confident, stating, “I think we’ve lost five to six players that played quite a lot of minutes for us last season and we brought in four new ones, so then it’s normal that there’s a little bit of adaptation. But we are definitely ready for the league to start.”

Elsewhere, Newcastle is facing a tough trip to Aston Villa and is set to be without star striker Alexander Isak, who is trying to force a move to Anfield.

Both Villa and Newcastle have consistently “outperformed some of the ‘big six’ in recent seasons” and will again be targeting Champions League qualification.
