Police Arrest Officers Over Money-Counting Video In Delta

The Delta State Police Command has arrested four of its officers who appeared in a “viral video” counting large amounts of money inside a patrol vehicle.

According to the Command’s spokesperson, Bright Edafe, in a “terse statement on Tuesday,” the “policemen in the embarrassing video have been identified and arrested” and “appeared before the Commissioner of Police today.”

The statement also confirmed that “The four personnel, two of them senior officers, have been queried, while the two inspectors have been detained and are awaiting an orderly room trial.”

The action was taken after public “outrage” over the video, and Edafe had previously “assured Nigerians that the Command would take appropriate disciplinary action against the officers.”
